NEW REQUIREMENTS APPLY WHEN A WARRANTY AGAINST DEFECTS IS PROVIDED - ARE YOU COMPLIANT? 31st Jan 2012 From January 1st 2012, manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and service providers were required to comply with new regulations within the Australia Consumer Law (ACL) relating to the provision of a warranty against defects (Regulation 90).
This affects current business as existing terms and conditions, product documentation and promotional materials need to be reviewed and changed to ensure compliance with these new stringent requirements.
